| The framing of the second floor for the church building is almost done. They will be working on the roof soon. When the workers are away, I like to walk through the different rooms of the building. You really get a feel for the size of the new place. Pastor Fu snuck onto the second floor, I haven't done that yet. I plan to do a prayer walk this afternoon. Never too early to start. On another note, I just finished filling out my application and my essay for the Doctor of Ministry program at Western Seminary. Soon the entire Chang family will all be students. We will definitely be fighting for computer time next year. Good thing we just got a router. That helps a lot, since matt and lauren now have their own email accounts, and matt has discovered IM. The flood hasn't started, but the rain is coming. | | |
| As we are planning for beautiful day, it really is amazing the opportunities that God gives to share His love. To think that there are those just across the street that could use a nice meal and all it takes is the initiative to find out and do something about it is very sobering. I am looking forward to what God will do with Beautiful Day coming up, how it will change the face of our church in the future. You get so used to church as usual, and just thinking about maintaining different ministries, its a good jolt in the heart to actually touch those who are in need as Jesus did. | | |

| Sorry for rambling but.... Currently reading "Studying the Historical Jesus: A guide to sources and methods". It's an excellent book looking at the Extra-biblical Documentation of Jesus, as well as the Dating of events, and the Socio/Political environment of Palestine preceding the birth of Jesus. Also has a good overview of the different critical methods of studying the Biblical text. It's very cool. I am amazed at how God really prepared Historical World Events to receive Jesus and to communicate his life in the Gospels. Also its fascinating how the political climate at the time really sheds a lot of light into why the nation of Israel responded to Christ as they did. God is indeed Lord. | | |
| Dallas Theological Seminary wrote me a letter asking for permission to archive my Artwork collection: "To Live and Die in D.T.S." in the DTS Archives. Quite funny as it was just an extensive personal collection of drawings and comic strips that I distributed to my friends, while I was a student there. Apparently the staff found a copy lying around the Seminary and submitted it to the DTS archives as a "valuable example of student life in 1987." Technically it means that my artwork will be available for academic research (Wonder how "Captain Theodicy: defender of Theological Orthodoxy" will come across to researchers?). Makes me want to start drawing again. | | |
